ROUND-UP: Senior hockey teams land wins in women’s and men’s comps

Hautapu Sports won two of their four games in the latest round of Waikato Hockey’s senior competitions.

A Reggina Petroni hat-trick inspired the Waipa Civil Hautapu Women’s side to a 3-2 win against TA Emeralds, a win that lifts Hautapu to third on the table, only two points behind the leaders in Women’s Reserve 2.

The Te Miro Water Hautapu Men’s team also returned home with a 3-1 win, beating Fraser Tech Development thanks to goals from Ambrosio Reidel, Elliott Axcell and Hadley Craig.

In the Women’s Reserve 3 competition, Evans & Co Hautapu Women’s lost 2-0.

The Woodcom Hautapu Men’s side lost 2-0 to Morrinsville in the Men’s Reserve 3 grade.

Next weekend, all four teams will play at St Peter’s, Cambridge, in a Hautapu Sports Club Day.

The scheduling of the games, from 9am till early afternoon, enables supporters to get behind all the teams at one venue.
